A farmer’s greatest triumph in their farming journey is in good soil preparation, sowing good quality seeds, managing costs and reaping a bountiful harvest. We therefore source and select our seeds for both green house and open field production from renowned, leading and globally respected seed producers and breeders who meet all international seed testing standards. Our hybrid and open pollinated seeds portfolio is carefully chosen, tried and tested locally to suit the soil and growing conditions. Additionally, we have our professional team of agronomists advising farmers on the best seed varieties suitable for their regions.
The effects of climate change have interrupted sowing and harvesting patterns in Rwanda. In an effort to help farmers better adapt, we are continuously working on providing high quality hybrid seeds that are well adapted and capable of dealing with changing climatic conditions and emerging diseases.
In recent years, drought has become a major challenge for Tanzanian farmers who are dependent on rain fed agriculture. To mitigate this, we supply hybrid vegetable and fodder seeds that are drought tolerant. We are a leader in the hybrid seed market in Tanzania by providing quality hybrid seeds & good genetics with very good disease package.
Our seeds have added value and benefited small and medium scale farmers, export farmers as well as Non- Governmental organizations (NGO’s) and Community Based Organisations (CBO’s) working with communities towards sustainable farming.
In our range of tomato seeds, Shanty Improved F1, Galilea F1 and Galilea improved F1 are suitable for regions experiencing high temperatures, cold temperatures and dry growing conditions. Additionally, they also have high resistance to Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus (TYLCV). Our Tomato Zara F1 and Ansal F1 tomato varieties are resistant to bacterial wilt and are recommended for bacterial wilt prone areas.
Additionally, we also offer a wide range of indeterminate varieties for under cover production such as Nikomate F1 which is a saladette variety with 140-180g fruit size.
Our Onions, Neptune F1 & Russet F1 ensure that the output is higher than per given area. This variety is well suited for the hotter & cooler regions. The bulb size is medium to large, very pungent with a deep red color and with a potential output of 30 tonnes per acre.
Most onion growing areas face challenges of onion pink root disease from continuous onion production with limited crop rotation. Russet F1 has proved resistance to pink root and the variety can be grown both under irrigation and in rain fed areas.
Cabbage farming traditionally thrives in cool and wet areas, our good hybrid Victoria F1 is very well known in the market. However, our Tropicana F1 seed variety is well adapted to dry conditions with some irrigation. It is a superior, hardy hybrid variety with good heat tolerance. It exhibits superior traits as an unbeatable variety regardless of the region it is grown. Maturing in only 60 days after transplanting with excellent field holding capacity and has very uniform heads, hence a one off harvest. Its compact head with enough cover leaves makes it suitable for long distance transportation.
We are one of the leaders in the watermelon hybrid segment in Tanzania, and we sell Zebra F1. It is very well accepted in the market and is the farmers preferred hybrid. We provide seeds with high quality germination and very good genetic purity.
