Agribusiness
My farm is about 30 acres and I started dealing with Amiran Zambia in 2010. I had a colleague that advised me to visit Amiran because I had started growing tomatoes and for sure, since my relationship with Amiran began, my production has been impressive. I usually get Dominique and Nemonetta seedlings from them. When I plant 10,000 seedlings, I usually get not less than 500 boxes when I harvest. To be honest, my favourite of the two is Nemonetta. With this variety, when I plant 20,000 seedlings, I get more than 1,000 boxes every week. I would advice start up farmers to visit Amiran especially when they do not know how to handle crop pests and diseases.

I buy many things from Amiran Zambia – seeds, chemicals, fertilizers and irrigation equipment, specifically drip lines. I have been with Amiran since 2003, when I moved to my farm, and I have developed a good business relationship with them from that time. For you to be a good farmer, you need good inputs and Amiran provides that. I am a maize farmer and from the time I knew about Amiran, I usually buy pre-emergent herbicides to get rid of maize weeds. From the time I started using these herbicides, my family and I are not as exhausted as we would get before, because we no longer do it manually. We just spray our fields and wait for the weeds to die. Additionally, Amiran sprayers are very effective. I discovered their store in Choma 5 years ago and I’ve been a customer ever since. I even have their store number on my phone. I found out about a bicycle competition when I called the Choma shop to enquire about a chemical I wanted. That very day I went and bought products from the shop and got a call a month later that I was the winner of a Buffalo Bicycle.
